Ana Rosa Hernandez Figueroa, born February 6, 1928, beloved wife, dedicated mother, devoted grandmother, honored sister, and faithful friend, peacefully passed from this world at the age of 87 at home in Richardson, TX on August 9, 2015.
Ana was a kind and gentle spirit, who was completely dedicated to her family. She and her husband of fifty years, Santos Figueroa, jointly operated a family dry cleaning business for over 20 years, working 11 hour days, and raising their two children, while serving their church community and devotedly living their Catholic faith.
At retirement they decided to build a home on family land in the lush, tropical hills of Puerto Rico where Ana grew multiple species of gorgeous orchids, gardenias, and a host of other bold and fragrant flowers. For many years she and her husband raised chickens and grew everything from mangos, to bananas, to avocados.
After her husband’s death in 2000, Ana moved to Texas to live with her daughter and grandson where her love of flowers continued with roses and Texas wildflowers.
Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Luis Hernandez, Vicente Hernandez and Juan Hernandez.
She is survived by her loving children, Ed Figueroa and his wife, Linda Golemme Figueroa, her daughter Annie Villalobos, her cherished grandson, Gabriel Villalobos and the fifteen grandchildren of the Villalobos family who lovingly adopted her.
She is also survived by her sister, Margarita Menendez, and her brothers, Manuel Hernandez and Emilio Hernandez. As well as the 24 nieces and nephews from the Figueroa and Hernandez families who affectionately loved their "Titi Ana"
