Andrew, affectionately known as Wayne by his family, was the eldest of 5 boys and took his role as big brother to heart. He often cared for and tended to his younger siblings while his parents worked.
Andrew accepted Christ at a young age being baptized at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R.L. Washington. He would later join First Baptist Church of Pasadena where his spiritual journey grew tremendously. Andrew became the Sunday School teacher for the 10th graders and was the official BBQ “pit master” of the singles ministry.
He would later move to Garland Texas and begin employment with AT&T. Andrew was a dedicated and hard worker. Andrew was so pleased when he reached his 25 year milestone. He was a giant in stature but a teddy bear at heart. His hearty laugh could be all consuming. Andrew was an excellent cook and loved fine dining. He enjoyed watching football and would often share that joy with his nephews and niece. Andrew was also a great bowler.
He never fathered any children of his own but was active as an uncle to his nephews and nieces. Andrew also treasured the role of Godfather to Joseph and Taylore. He touched the lives of so many he came in contact with. Once you spent time with him, you would never forget him.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents Alzie and Andrew, brothers Anthony Karl, Curtis Earl and Clarence Kelvin.
Left to cherish his memory are his nieces Dominique Winston, Gianna Griffin, and Brittney Winston; nephews CJ Winston (Ilexuz), Terrence Winston and Deon Winston; Brother, Byron Winston; Aunt Charles Etta Beal; Godchildren Joseph Phillips and Taylore Phillips Wagner; Special friends Kip and Amanda Coon, Don and Tori Phillips; and a host of other family and friends.
