He lived a multi-faceted life serving as a Lt. for the South Vietnamese army and immigrating to the US in 1978. Before arriving in the US, Ba and his wife spent time in Hong Kong as refugees caring for their infant son Dat who sadly departed this world during that time. Ba and his wife forged forward to the US with their hearts heavy but spirits still intact—amused by the “Halloween costumes” of Americans and hopeful of the new life ahead of them.
Ba faced many challenges in his life, yet he always brought joy to those around him. He graced us with his humor, intellect, and deep wisdom. His family remembers his artistic and active spirit where he wrote poetry, traveled when he was able to, and recounted the many tales of his life in Vietnam. Ba dedicated the twilight of his life to practicing VoVi meditation and enjoying his 2 new grandbabies.
Ba passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb 27 at 73 years old. He is survived by his wife Kim, 3 children—Linda, Vu, and Lisa, and 3 grandchildren—Troy, Isolina, and Winston. Please join us in honoring his life on Friday, March 10th for a Buddhist funeral service at 2 pm followed by visitation hours.
