Barbara graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Eastfield Junior College. She worked for Dallas Independent School District for 11 years then taught at Beacon Hill Christian School before becoming their principal.
Barbara had a passion for traveling but found her biggest joy through bible study.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Cochrane.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John G. King Sr., daughter, Karen Miller and her husband Doug, son, John King, Jr. and his wife Laurie, grandchildren, James Miller and Sophie Harbour, and her sisters, Billie Carr and Debbie Inman.
Visitation will be held at Sparkman Funeral Home 1029 S. Greenville Ave. Richardson, TX 75081 Friday, June 7, 2019 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 3:00pm with Pastor Leonard Jackson officiating. Burial with follow at Restland Cemetery 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75243.
