

Dale Curtiss Rouze, 76, of Garland, Texas passed away peacefully at home the evening of December 15, 2017. He was born December 13, 1941 in Ames, Iowa to Harold and Lucille McKinney Rouze. Dale joined the Army after graduation from Ames High School. While in the service, he was stationed in Germany, California, and New Jersey. He played football while in the Army and was the drummer for a local band while on leave. After an honorable discharge, Dale moved to Texas in 1966. He received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Arlington where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity. During his time at UTA, he met Pamela Kay Long, and they were married December 23, 1972. Dale had a long and successful career in the veterinary supply industry as a manufacturer and distributor sales representative for Vet-Kem, Butler, and MWI, earning several awards and incentive trips. He spent his free time with friends and family and loved to travel to countries like Italy, Mexico, and Australia among others. He loved all kinds of music from classical to Black Eyed Peas and went to concerts in the DFW area as well as several jazz and blues festivals. He was a member of various professional organizations, the Spring Park Billiards Club, and former director and member of the Oakridge Neighborhood Association. He was also an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and held season passes with his wife, Pamela. Dale had a big heart and would always put others before himself. He wouldn’t hesitate to lend emotional or financial support to any friend or family member in need. He often donated to the American Red Cross and the A.S.P.C.A. and also adopted several animals without a home.
Dale is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pamela; sons, Michael, Chris, and Derek; daughter, Wendy; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Matthew, and Michael Jr.; great grandchildren, Isabella and Finnley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A visitation will be held at Sparkman Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 26 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A private graveside service will be held at DFW National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 27, at 1:00pm.
After the holidays, a memorial for Dale will be held at his Garland home on Saturday, January 27 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Memorial donations in his honor may be made to the Dallas S.P.C.A.
