Donna was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on December 15, 1944 as the third oldest of six siblings. She grew up in Graford and Arlington, settling in Richardson in the early seventies.
She was known for her sweet and beautiful smile, her strength, and her determination along with the stubbornness she came by honestly (a Stephens family trait). She was incredibly close with her younger sister Melba, her chief partner in mischief. Donna and Melba together provided significant caretaker support in their adult years for family members with serious illness while balancing work and raising families.
She loved dancing, motorcycle riding with her husband, traveling (especially to the beach), boating on the lake, eating Tex-Mex, and her daily 4 pm popcorn habit. Family was Donna’s priority and she always made the effort to spend time with us whether that be going for a visit, hosting holidays, celebrating birthdays, or the occasional get together “just because”. She loved her desserts – didn’t much matter what kind of dessert it was, but you best make sure that you did not come between that woman and her sweets or you might end up on the wrong side of a fork.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years Dearoll Wayne Walker, children Dearoll Walker and wife Robin, Sean Walker and wife Cheryl, Crista Newton and husband Tim, and Latricia Daniels. She leaves behind grandchildren Ashley, Elizabeth, Brittany, Richard, Shawna, Shannon, Zedrick, and Larissa and 8 beloved great grandchildren (and two granddogs).
