Born April 19, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA, Gloria was the daughter of Sam and Fae Cohen Silver. She spent her formative years in Chicago, IL, where she developed her lifelong passions. After graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Gloria served as a Cardiac Technician at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, where she met Harold. Once married, they began to build their family, first in Madison, WI, then Louisville, KY, finally settling in Dallas in 1960.
Gloria built a beautiful life, centered around her family. Beloved wife of Harold, theirs was a partnership rooted in mutual admiration and deep love. Together, they raised 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren to whom she offered unconditional support, wisdom, and an unwavering belief in their individual potential. She treasured every moment spent with them.
Outside of her family and work, she loved performing and was an active member of the arts and entertainment community as a professional model, actor, dancer, singer, and as a volunteer. She loved a good joke, a spirited game of Mah Jong, a friendly bit of dog love, and most importantly…chocolate.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 70 years, who is grateful for the opportunity to have shared this wonderful life with her. Her legacy includes loving children: Cathy (Robert), Richard, Robert (Melanie), Mike; grandchildren: Adam of blessed memory (Christine), Marissa (Kevin), Jared (Caitlin), Rachel, and great-grandchildren: Asher and Hazel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.
