

During World War II, he served under General George Patton in the Third Army until the surrender of Germany. Reverend Hamm later served as pastor for Congregational Methodist churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana. He also owned Hank’s Radiator Shop in Shreveport for many years before his retirement.
Reverend Hamm is survived by his two sons, Donald (Hank) Edward Hamm and wife, Janet Martin Hamm, of Richardson, Texas, and Evan (Pat) Paschall Hamm, Jr. and wife, Sheila Neal Hamm, of Wylie, Texas; granddaughter, Donna Kay Hamm Scroggins and husband, Rickey Scroggins, of Shreveport, Louisiana, and their children, Jake and Josh Scroggins, also of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandson, David Edward Hamm of Dallas, Texas, and his son, Donald Evan Hamm; granddaughter, Nicole Buck, of Shreveport, Louisiana, and her daughter Arianne Grygorczuk of Wylie, Texas; and two great-great-grandchildren of Shreveport, Louisiana. He is also survived by his 94-year-old sister, Maebelle Hamm Cash, who lives in Georgia, and her two children; as well as three brothers-in-law, Jimmy, Ronald, and Alburn (Shorty) Norton and their families, all of Heflin, Alabama.
Preceding Reverend Hamm in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Hamm of Heflin, Alabama, and five brothers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lea Norton Hamm, who was the eldest daughter of Jake and Ruby Norton of Heflin, Alabama. His sister-in-law, Doris Norton Sayer, of Heflin, Alabama also preceded him in death.
Services for Reverend Hamm are pending, but internment will be in Lower Cane Creek Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama.
