

Fred achieved his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught at Austin College, Texas Southern University, and the University of Dallas. Fred also served in Pepperdine University’s Presidential MBA Program. He was a member of the American Psychological Association and was affiliated with the Professional Development Institute of North Texas State University. Fred wrote many articles and books on sales and motivation, specializing in teaching attorneys and Certified Public Accountants the skills needed to market and develop their business.
He enjoyed listening to all types of music, ranging from Spanish guitar to classical as well as contemporary artists he heard on the radio. He was known to often be on his rowing machine listening to music! Fred had a mind for sports statistics, sharing his knowledge with whomever would listen. He also had a passion for tennis, and enjoyed the many hours he spent on the courts with his friends and family.
He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Rhonda Bunte, his daughter Dr. Jodie Labowitz (Dr. Howard Abrams), son Bart Labowitz (Dr. Theresa Quinn), grandchildren Daniel and Benjamin Abrams, Adam and Austin Labowitz, and many nieces and nephews.
Fred is predeceased by his parents, Barney and Sylvia Labowitz, sisters Gloria Weisberg, Miriam Leibeck, and Dianne Rutt.
