

Glenn Dorris Mayberry was born on April 27, 1938, in Pleasantville, Tennessee. In Hickman County in a small house in the hills. At around four years of age, his family moved to Hohenwald, Tennessee. Glenn graduated 3rd in his class from Lewis County High School. He graduated in the famous year of 1957. After high school he joined the Airforce where he studied electronics and radar. He was stationed in Mobile, Alabama and Kansas. Then in 1962 Glenn moved to Dallas, Texas to work at Collins Radio as a test technician. He worked at Collins Radio, Rockwell International and retired at Alcatel.
Glenn loved to dance and one night while dancing in south Dallas he met the love of his life Betty Turberville. The two were married within a year on June 8th, 1963. They raised four children, James Leach, born in 1957, Glenn Jr., born in 1963, Deborah born in 1965, and Eddy, born in 1969. Glenn and Betty started their journey together in a small house on Wood Dale in Casa View. They then moved to Garland on Twilight Drive in 1965.
Glenn enjoyed spending time with family and taking his kids hunting, fishing, camping, and shared with them his passion for sports. Around 1966 Glenn and Betty decided to start attending church. They took their family to Castle Drive. His enthusiasm for golf was undeniable and filled his time during retirement.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Betty Mayberry. His children Glenn, Jr. and wife Shelley, and Eddy Mayberry; his Grandchildren, Rachel and her husband, Justin McCary, Danny and his wife Lelie Mayberry; His Great Grandchildren Gracelynn McCary, Jonah McCary, Caleb Mayberry, Joshua Mayberry, Anna Ray Mayberry; and His sister in Tennessee, Louise Jones. Other survivors include James Leach and Deborah Cobern.
