Gloria Ellen Green passed away peacefully on November 10, 2017. She was born in Johnstown, Colorado and was 91 at the time of her death. After graduating from the Catholic Girls High School in Los Angeles at the age of 16, Gloria went on to receive her Nursing degree from St. Vincent’s Hospital in Los Angeles. She worked as a nurse for more than 40 years, with the last 23 years spent at Doctor’s Hospital in Dallas as the Head Emergency Room Nurse. Gloria married Oscar “Larry” Green on February 12, 1955. They were happily married for 47 years, until Larry’s death in 2002. Gloria’s passions in life included bowling, watching golf, her two dogs, and spending time with her children, Bob and Janet, and her 6 grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Patricks Catholic Church for over 50 years. Gloria is survived by her son Bob Green and his wife Penny, daughter Janet Hershey and her husband Mark, as well as her loving grandchildren Megan Hershey and husband Rick Slager, Eric Green, Matthew Hershey and wife Chelsey, Emily Green, Meredith Hershey, and Ethan Green, and great-grandchildren Liam Slager, Owen Slager, and Finnley Hershey. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry, parents Clarence and Helen Ertel, sister Ruth Anne Breeding, and brother Donald Ertel.
