JACKSON, JAMIE McCALLUM returned to the arms of her Heavenly Father and Savior on July 1, 2016. She died suddenly and unexpectedly from surgery. Born on October 1, 1972, Jamie was a loving, dedicated, faithful, and loyal wife, mother, daughter, and friend who was loved by many but especially by her closest family, friends, and neighbors. Jamie was born and raised in Lizella, Georgia, and she attended First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, Georgia, where she graduated in 1990, during which time she came to know her Savior Jesus Christ. In 1994, Jamie graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS degree in Architecture, after which she moved to Dallas to pursue a career in architecture. In 1998, Jamie married Christopher Jackson, the love of her life. Shortly thereafter, Jamie left architecture to pursue her true passions—her faith, her family, and overseeing the education of her children. Through her membership in the Richardson Home School Association, Jamie was more than a mother to her children; she was their educator. Jamie’s involvement and role as her children’s teacher started them on the path to learning, a mother’s gift her children will forever cherish and which will forever enrich their lives. Jamie’s family is grateful for the prayerful and supportive believers at Jamie’s church home, New St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, where Jamie attended as a founding member. Jamie is survived by her husband, Christopher Carson Jackson, four children, Mercy McCallum Jackson, Christopher Carson Jackson, Jr., Meadow Ruth Jackson, and Melody Anne Jackson, parents Diane and James Edward (“Jimmy”) McCallum, her Aunt Dot O’Neal, close cousins Dwayne Tarpley, Eric McCallum, Ethan McCallum, Gretchen Tarpley Brennan, Kris Vaughn and Josh Hattaway, parents-in-law Clyde C. Jackson, Jr., and Betsy Jackson, siblings-in-law Michael Carlin Jackson, Kathy Young Jackson, and Jonathan Lee Jackson, nieces Lauren Anne Jackson and Ashley Suzanne Jackson, nephew Mitchell Carlin Jackson, and numerous other in-laws, cousins, and close family friends who will always remember and never forget their sweet, caring, and compassionate Jamie, who would fight for her family and do whatever was needed for her kids. Jamie has departed this earth to be with her Lord and Savior, and we all look forward to seeing her again in Glory at the Resurrection. Family and friends are welcome to attend the service in celebration of Jamie’s life at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, followed by a reception at the church. Donations in Jamie’s memory may be made to the Children of Jamie Jackson Education Fund and sent to 600 N. Pearl, Suite 650, LB 149, Dallas, Texas 75201.
