

Ken was born on July 1, 1939, in Antioch, California, to his parents, Wilfred Patterson and Ethel Lampley. He spent his childhood in Antioch, where he formed lasting bonds with his family and the community. On April 6, 1963, Ken married the love of his life, Beverly A. Patterson, a union that lasted for 57 wonderful years until Beverly's passing. Their enduring love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Ken is survived by his two cherished children, Laura Campbell and Todd Patterson. Laura is married to Clint Campbell of Windsor, CT, and together they enriched Ken's life with their love and support. Todd, residing in Dallas, TX, continued to be a source of joy to Ken, sharing his love of scouting and home improvement projects.
He is also survived by his sister, Alice Beede, of Antioch, CA, whose bond with Ken was unbreakable and a source of lifelong comfort and camaraderie. Sister-in-law, LuAnn Williams of Antioch, CA, who was a dear and cherished member of the family. Ken is also survived by his Ken's faithful and loyal companion, his German Short Haired Pointer, Boo, who was his constant source of joy and solace.
Ken's commitment to his country was exemplified through his honorable service in the United States Navy. He proudly served from 1961 to 1984, retiring as Commander, and dedicating 23 years of his life to the defense of our nation. During his distinguished career, Ken served on various ships, including the USS St. Paul, USS Neches, and USS San Jose. His dedication and loyalty to his fellow servicemen were unwavering, and his contributions to the Navy were truly commendable.
Throughout his military service, Ken's family stood by his side as they were stationed in Bremerton, WA, Washington, DC, Monterrey, CA, Ankara, Turkey, and Oakland, CA. These experiences shaped the Patterson family and provided them with a unique perspective on the world.
Ken was not only a dedicated serviceman but also a proud Eagle Scout. He served as a Troop Leader, imparting invaluable life skills and a love of scouting to countless young scouts. Ken's commitment to scouting left a lasting impact on the youth he mentored, and his legacy continues through their achievements.
In addition to his military and scouting achievements, Ken was an expert DIY'er, known for his skill in fixing up and renovating houses with each move. His handy work transformed many houses into loving homes and brought joy to his family with each new project.
Ken will be remembered not only for his honorable service, love of scouting, and home improvement projects but also for his kindness, generosity, and love for his family and friends. His sense of duty, integrity, and unwavering commitment to those he cared about will be cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Kenneth L. Patterson's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will forever be remembered as a dedicated husband, a loving father, a proud Navy veteran, an inspirational Scout Leader, and a skilled DIY craftsman. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Beverly, and may his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
