In her younger years Lorane loved playing softball, where she excelled as a pitcher. Her passion was reading and learning as much as she could. She met John Herring as a car hop when she roller skated over to his car…it was love at first sight. They married and had 3 children: Steve Herring, Robert Herring, and Karon Barron. After her divorce, her devotion to her children was the most important to her. She worked long hours to take care of her children as a single Mother, putting herself through Cosmetology School and providing the kids their first new home. She was a caring loving Mother above all else. After working long days, she would still make it a priority to attend her children’s after school and sports activities. She met and married Gil Herndon in 1983, she adored him and spent the best years of her life with him. She was also blessed with 3 bonus sons from the marriage: Jack Herndon, Don Herndon, and Glenn Herndon. She loved her grandchildren: Heath, Heather, Autumn and Laura, and her great grandchildren: Tristen, Riley, Zoe, Leo, Ella, Miles, Vincent and Julian.
Lorane always overcame adversity in her life, she always made her friends and family feel special. She loved to travel, loved holidays and laughing with her family, she enjoyed playing games: she was a great card player, and loved corn hole….she was good at everything. Her love and laughter will be missed.
