

She is preceded in death by her husband, C. Douglass Forde, Jr., their son, Clifton Douglass Forde, III, her parents, William and Jennie Lou Haughton, her brother, W.R. (Billy) Haughton, and many friends and family members.
She is survived by daughters Ellen Douglass (Forde) Grigsby, Alice Haughton (Forde) Bingaman, husband Don Bingaman; grandchildren: Russell, Mary Hayes, David, Jennie Hayes, Elle, and Mary Lou; brother Frank B. Haughton, precious sisters-in-law, a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends - all who await our reunion one day.
She was the best friend and “Mama” to her children, wonderful “Me-me” to her grandchildren, sweet “Aunt Mary Ellen” and “Hooten” to many friends.
Mary Ellen graduated from Stephen J. Hay Elementary School, North Dallas High School and SMU. Her life was enriched by: studying the Bible, making homes warm and inviting, big band music, great sense of rhythm and dancing, fishing in East Texas, gardening, avid reading, Win Lee Beauty Salon, her renowned Bridge Club and the Brit-com “Keeping Up Appearances.”
She and Doug were long-time members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and charter members of Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCPC). She called both PCPC and the new church plant, Christ Church Carrollton, her church homes.
Visitation will be from 2p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 2nd, at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas 75211, on Monday, January 3, at 10:30 a.m.
A Memorial Service will be at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 3821 University Blvd, Dallas, TX, 75205, on Monday, January 3, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. William Lovell officiating.
