Michael Weir Ilaoa

Michael is survived by his wife Barbara and their two children, Brooke and her husband Rowdy Poteet, and Kevin Ilaoa; two grandchildren, Birdie and Wheeler Poteet, his sisters Patty Boyd and Moana Costello, his brothers John Ilaoa and Tim Ilaoa, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Mike was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kuki Uo and Lois Jane Ilaoa.

Mike graduated from Bryan Adams High School and later attended the University of Houston, where he received his degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He was an outstanding athlete in high school, which also lead to a successful college football career. After graduation, he married Barbara Mason, the love of his life for 40 years. After a long career in the food industry, followed by beginning his own catering company with his mother, Mike went on to purchase Texas Licensing Group. He will greatly miss being a Papa to his two newest joys in life, Birdie and Wheeler and spending time with his loving family and furry friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 4th. A memorial service for Mike will be at White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas on Monday, December 5 at 11:00 AM. Mike will be laid to rest at the Sparkman Hillcrest in Dallas, TX.

Barbara and family have asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas or to the SPCA of Texas.
