Sammie Denison McRae

She is proceeded in death by her son, Bill McRae of Dallas, Texas; and her parents, Sam and Mary Denison of Porter, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband, Robert McRae; her son, David McRae and wife Maudeen; and her daughter, Mary Merryman and husband Shon. She was also the proud, loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren: Kaleigh McRae, Robert McRae, Lindsay Merryman, Cade Merryman, Cameron Merryman, and Shelbi Merryman.

Sammie grew up in Porter, Oklahoma and graduated from Porter High School in 1935. After graduation, she attended Tulsa Business School and then went to work for American Airlines. She met Bob while working for American in Tulsa. Bob and Sammie were married on April 14, 1961 in Tulsa, Ok. When she was healthy, Sammie was a regular attendee at Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Farmers Branch, Texas. She enjoyed traveling, music, and spending time with family and friends.

The visitation for Sammie will be held on Monday February 1, 2016, from 5-7 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Sparkman Funeral Home (1029 South Greenville Ave., Richardson, Texas 75081), followed by interment at 3:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
