

Winfred Eugene “Gene” Sartin, Jr., 65 of Dallas, TX, passed away on December 30, 2013. He was born in Jackson, MS on March 3, 1948. He is preceded in death by his parents: Winfred Sr. and Lois Sartin and parents-in-laws: Jack and Gladys Gould. Gene is survived by his beloved wife: Barbara (Gould) Sartin; two sons: Bryan Sartin & wife Jody, and Zac Sartin; grandchildren: Dean, Jake & Ava – all of Dallas, TX; sister: Pat Wright-Evans and husband Tony Evans of Jenks, OK; brother: Dennis Sartin and wife Monica of Texarkana, TX; brother-in-law Doug Gould and wife Pam of Ecuador; and many other extended family and friends.
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle. Gene’s loyalty and devotion to family and friends was visible to all who knew and loved him. He was a source of advice and wisdom, always there for those who needed him. Raised a Baptist Christian, Gene’s faith and spirituality guided his interactions with others.
Born, raised, educated and married in Mississippi, Gene’s competitive nature influenced all aspect of his life. A true entrepreneur and a business owner, Gene was a motivated individual, driven to success. His hardworking and tenacious nature helped define his character.
Above all else, he was the center of the family. A dependable rock for his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings, Gene’s family brought him immeasurable joy and happiness. He will continue on in our hearts as a leader, teacher and a source of inspiration.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Sparkman Funeral Home (1029 S. Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081, (972)-238-7855) on the 4th day of January, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Donations may be made in Gene’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/donate
