I am so saddened to see this. I was searching for a way to contact him and came across his obituary. The world losing such a great man is a terrible loss to say the least. I learned a great many things from Mr. Beddard in the short time I knew him and while it saddens me to see this, I remind myself to take comfort in knowing that he is a much better place where he can play his guitar and watch over those that he cares for more than anything.

I am your nephew Richard Beddard David Beddard Jr's son you will always be missed more then I can say in words.  YOU WERE A GREAT UNCLE!!!!!!

Thoughts and prayers sent to Ms.Evelyn and family.  I met Roosevelt and Evelyn thru my sister in law, Angie Schwetzke.  I know he will be missed by all of you. May God watch over you during this time of sorrow and may his memories will give you comfort. With deepest sympathy.

My uncle Roosevelt and Aunt Evelyn mean the world to me. They have shared the word of God through their music, being a part of "New River Gospel" or just on the back porch on holidays, since I can remember. Their legacy will carry on in our family through the music they shared with everyone. I am proud to be their niece.

To the Beddard Family:  I'm unable to attend either the viewing or the funeral but my thoughts and prayers are with you.  I always enjoyed playing and singing with Roosevelt, and when we used to have the jam sessions at his tire shop on 17 North.  He will be missed by all of us who knew him, but Heaven has gained a pretty good singer and guitar player.

So sorry to hear this......I remember singing the Prettiest Flower with Roosevelt.. Heaven gained another pretty flower..

Well, I guess he did what he said he would and flew on away to Heaven and will never be singing these particular verses again (since he's already there now). I'm now looking forward to getting there too and hearing his new version of the song complete with the Angel Band accompaniment.
