Barbara Hall Hughes

She was the widow of Horace "Whitey" Hughes, a retired Battalion Chief of the Richmond Bureau of Fire and predeceased by her parents, Addie Mae and William Edward Hall, her aunt, Gertrude Cornish and her in-laws, Etta and Mitchell Hughes.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Hughes of Richmond; sons, Dave Hughes and his wife Sharon of Montpelier and Steven Mitchell Hughes and his wife Nancy of Richmond; sisters, Nancy Gifford of Tampa, Florida and Jane Moody and her husband Bryan of Richmond; beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Nikki, Sydney and Grace Hughes; great-granddaughter, Whitney "Ally" Hughes; nephews, Justin Moody, Ricky Hughes, Robert Hughes, and Jonathan Hughes; nephew and niece of Tampa, Florida, David Gifford (Kim) and Beth Calzone (Manuel); great-great niece, Sunshine Hughes; and special cousin Joyce Lee Binns. Mrs. Hughes was a lifetime member of Grace Baptist Church where her church family meant so much to her. She was a proud part of the Richmond firefighters family. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Reverend Courtney Allen Crump, pastor of Grace Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be shared on the Grace Baptist Church of Richmond YouTube Channel on March 14, 2021.
