Beryl Gloria Godfrey Brown

Beryl Godfrey Brown, 89, passed away February 6, 2013 in Richmond, VA. She is survived by her brother Dan Godfrey and her half sister, Iris Branch. She is also survived by her sons T. Lee Brown, Jr. (Wendy) of Richmond and Randall G. Brown (Lynn) of San Antonio , Tx. grandsons David, Chris and Ryan and great grandson Ren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born in Norfolk and raised in Virginia Beach , then lived in Richmond for over 30 years, before returning to the beach in 1982 after the passing of her late husband, Thomas Lee Brown. She managed Helen Howry Dress Shop on Grove Avenue in Richmond for 25 years, then retired to a life overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, playing golf and spending time with her many sisters and brothers, all of whom remained in Tidewater. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. A special thanks to her wonderful caregivers at Emeritus at Deep Run.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 4:00 – 6:00pm at the Woody funeral home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, VA. Her funeral service will be held at the Chapel Mausoleum at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave. at 11:30am on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
