Chloe Evelyn Buchanan, 24, of Richmond, VA, left this earth on Friday, December 3, 2021. She is survived by her parents, Keith Buchanan and Julie Adams-Buchanan, step-mother Sarah Buchanan, siblings Sara, Ethan and Lucy, grandparents David & Doreen Buchanan and John & Barbara Adams, godmother Maurine Houser, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Chloe was a student at Bryant & Stratton College and was excited about entering the workforce as she prepared for a career as a social worker. Anyone who truly knew Chloe knew she had a huge heart. Her desire to help others began as a young child, accompanying her mother with First Baptist Church Richmond, to provide food and personal products to the homeless. Every day Chloe thought of ways to support others. She was also an animal lover.
Chloe was so much more than her struggles. She was endlessly curious, loved a good debate and was strong in her faith. Chloe loved to bake, listen to music, and create art. She was always thrilled to vacation and spend holidays with her numerous family members. One of her favorite places was the Northern Neck of Virginia, where she spent many years celebrating life by basking in the sun, swimming, boating, fishing and eating crabs.
Chloe had recently become a godmother to Nathaniel, son of her best friend Tommy Clune, and wanted nothing more than to be a part of his life.
Chloe’s loved ones are grateful that after many years of enduring intense physical pain, she will no longer suffer and is now at peace in the tender hands of the Lord.
Family and close friends will gather privately to celebrate her life on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Flowers may be sent to Woody’s Funeral Home, Parham Road Chapel, by December 10th.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite non-profit organization.
