SIMS, Clyde Earl, Sr., age 90, passed away on July 29, 2015 and was a resident of Beth Sholom Home and formerly The Virginian. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Mamie “Donnie” Moorefield Sims in 1999. Clyde was the oldest of nine siblings and is suvived by his brother, James “Bubby” Sims. Clyde is also survived by his son, Clyde Jr. (Jeanne); a daughter, Brenda Wright (Bruce); a daughter, Bonnie Holstrom; grandsons, Jason Sims and James Wright (Rebecca); and great-granddaughter, Jillian Wright. Clyde was a master carpenter and construction foreman. He and Donnie loved to play and sing country and gospel music. Clyde was a founding member of First Bible Baptist Church in South Richmond and volunteered countless hours toward its construction. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond.
