JAMISON, Danny (James Daniel), 67, of Glen Allen, Virginia, passed away at the University of Virginia Hospital on March 19, 2019, with his loved ones by his side. Danny was born in Roanoke, Virginia on March 20, 1951 to Roy Floyd and Clara Mae (Peggy) Finney Jamison, who preceded him in death. Danny is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Brenda (Colvin); daughter Emily - that he shared 30 laughter-filled years with - her husband and his friend, Miller VanFossen, and his two precious grandsons, George Daniel and Jack Miller. He was also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Harrison Lohr and favorite nephews, Andrew and Will Lohr; brother-in-law, Granville Colvin (Barbara); and sister-in-law Joyce B. Jamison; his mother-in-law, Vivian W. Colvin and aunt, Edith Jamison, and special cousin, Judy J. Fisher. He is also survived by two nephews, Todd and Joel Jamison and two nieces, Karen Lillard and Kimberly Peterson. Danny’s brother, Walton, and his father-in-law, William G. Colvin, preceded him in death. Danny was a graduate of Culpeper County High School Class of 1970 and was very active in all school activities especially football and basketball. He retired from the Henrico County Police Department after 37 years of service and served in various capacities, the most-enjoyed position being that of Forensic Investigator, where he served for 22 years. Danny was active for many years with the Henrico Fraternal Order of Police and the Glen Allen Community Center. He was a member of West End Assembly of God and served on missions for the homeless. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his Monday night men’s Bible study group. Danny will be remembered as the sweetest husband ever, wonderful father and father-in-law, proud Pops, and a friend to many. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, from 2:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at West End Assembly of God, 401 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA. The service will be held at West End Assembly of God on Monday, March 25 at 11:00a.m. with Interment following at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA at 2:30p.m. If you would like to make a donation in Danny’s memory, please consider West End Assembly of God Missions Department or University of Virginia Medical Center Division of Pulmonary Research at PO Box 400331 Charlottesville, VA 22904.
