Douglas Arbulu passed away, surrounded by loved ones, in Richmond, Virginia, on December 1, 2025. He was born in New York City on November 14, 1965 to the late George and Esperanza Arbulu and spent many wonderful years living in Southern California.
Doug graduated from New York University and Georgetown University Law Center before he began his career at Bain & Company, where he worked as the Director of Technology Solutions.
And while he had a successful “day job,” Doug was also an actor, comedian, impressionist, meditation instructor, philosopher, volunteer, boat captain, marriage officiant, college and career counselor, model plane builder, world traveler, and the life of every party. He was hilarious and quick-witted, but he was also the most loyal and generous son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Above all, Doug encouraged everyone around him to love life and find joy and humor even in the most challenging moments.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother George (Michelle) Arbulu, and he is survived by his siblings: Fred (Chris) Arbulu, Robert Arbulu, and Carol (Bill) Walsh. His legacy will live on through his many nieces and nephews, who adored him.
A service will be held to honor the life of Doug Arbulu on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, Virginia 23229. Doug will be laid to rest at Fairfax Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Doug’s memory to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network: https://secure.pancan.org/site/TR/DIY/DIYTeamraisers?pg=personal&px=3767913&fr_id=2443
