

Johnson, Edward Lee, Jr., 94, departed this life October 31, 2024. He was predeceased by his wife of sixty-three years, Georgia, and his son Scott, and is survived by his son David (Holly), three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister (Brenda Walsh, Lynchburg).
A native of Richmond, he was a member of the John Marshall Cadet Corps, Company E, and served in the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. An active Mason for more than sixty years, he served as Master of Babcock Lodge, Master of Northside Lodge, and District Deputy Grand Master. He joined Fairmount Baptist Church in 1938 and then at Fairmount Memorial Baptist Church he taught the ten-year-old boy's Sunday School class, drove the church bus, and ushered.
He worked as a machinist for Reynolds Metals Company (Bellwood Printing plant) for more than thirty-five years, was active in IAM Local 10, and never missed a day of work. He coached Glen Lea Little League baseball and was selected as WWBT-12 Father of the Year in 1974. He spent his final years in the fellowship of Shalom Baptist Church, the John Marshall Cadet Alumni Association, and his brethren at Babcock Lodge.
Funeral service will be held at Woody's Parham on January 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment following at Forest Lawn.
