Esther Peterkin Madison of Richmond, VA departed this life on December 24, 2012 at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. Esther was born on February 9, 1941 in Dunn, NC to the late Julius Peterkin, Sr and Ruby McLean Peterkin, the fourth of eight children.
In addition to her parents a brother, Samuel L. Peterkin, Sr., preceded her in death. Esther is survived by her husband of 45 years, Stephen W. Madison, one daughter, Stephanie A. Madison of Newport News, VA, one brother, five sisters, two brothers – in – law, two sisters- in-law, several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones.
Visitation of the family will be from 6 - 7 pm on December 28, 2012 at Southampton Baptist Church on 7521 Comanche Dr in Richmond, VA. A memorial service will be held on December 29, 2012 at 1 pm at the same location previously mentioned.
