Gene served in the US Air Force prior to his long career with the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring in 1993. He had many passions in life such as music, art, sailing, billiards and golfing, to name a few. He never met a stranger and could light up a room with his kind smile and funny stories. Most important to him was spending time with his family, moving to Virginia in 2019 to be near them.
Gene was predeceased by his sister, brother and son, Robert Coulter. He is survived by wife Barbara; daughters, Kathi Ford and Angie Billmayer(Hanns); grandchildren Sean, Kelli(Greg), Haley(Jonathan), Ethan and Erik; 9 great grandchildren and loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Second Baptist Church, 9614 River Road, Richmond, VA on Friday, May 31 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, family requests a donation to Samaritan’s Purse, American Heart Association or charity of your choice in honor of him.
