Gay was my grandmother's dearest friend (Mary Heilman). She was like a "second mother" to my mother, Ellen Shatzer. Gay was warm, and happy, and had such a vibrant personality; I loved when she visited our family because she "lit up the house" with her joyful spirit. She had a wonderful sense of humor, an abiding faith in God, and a true dedication to those whom she knew and loved. I offer my sincere condolences to her son, Bill, who I know will miss his wonderful mother so much. Sincerely, Donna (Shatzer) Ross

Gaynelle and I were best friends for over 6 years. We could sit and talk for 4 hours, non-stop. We loved the same food, the same music, the same Bible verses. We could sing (sometimes out of tune) all the old gospel songs. We would laugh so often and so hard. I'd tell her, "It's a good day to have a good day." and she would say, "Yes, it is a good day to have a good day." We talked about our "boys" and I'd tell her about my sweet daughter. I will miss her, but she told me that when she gets to heaven, she will keep an eye out for me.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of our sweet Gaynelle. I met her and her loving son about 3 years ago when I was taking care of her. I have never met someone so sweet. No matter how uncomfortable, or how much pain she may have been in, she always had a smile on her face and always wanted to hear about your day. I miss her so much. I am so thankful to have met her. I love you, May!
