WHITT, Glenda Garner, of Glen Allen, Virginia, died suddenly at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, March 18, 2018. She was preceded in death by Martha and James Garner and brothers, Ronald and James, and her husband, James Whitt. She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Garner, of Richmond. Glenda graduated from Richmond Professional Institute. Her long and exemplary career included positions of trust and leadership in the banking sector, Bell Atlantic, VCU, and most recently Morningside. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Fuertes, son-in-law, Ron, grandson, Aaron, and granddaughter, Emily, all of Houston, Texas, as well as an extended family and a host of devoted friends and relatives including, Edith, Reed, Benjamin, and Will Harrison of Richmond; Kimberli, David, Darien, and Peyton Halliday of Palm Coast, Florida; Candice, Brandon, Austin, Bailey, Savannah, and Addison Ross, of Madison, Georgia. Glenda was a friend of great faith, courage, compassion, empathy, kindness, and enthusiasm. She loved her cats, Peeper and Daisy, who are currently residing with new adoptive families. She will be greatly missed. Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 24, at Washington Memorial Park at 11:00 am.
