Gordon H Tiller

Hut was born on September 25, 1956 in Richmond, VA where he lived his entire life. He grew up with the love of playing baseball in the Tuckahoe Little League Organization. He was a 1978 graduate of Virginia Tech. In his adulthood, he coached 20 years for the youth coming through Tuckahoe Little League in the spirit of it wasn't about winning, but having a good time. Hut continued his love of youth by being an active leader in Cub Scout Troop 776 and serving on the PTA board at Ruby F. Carver Elementary School. Once his sons had grown, he poured his heart, soul, and time into his love of his church. Hut was a hard worker for his employers throughout the years. The last 15 years he was a sales representative for E.H. Lail Millwork, Inc, and worked additional hours in the past 2 years at Lowe's in Short Pump. He always served his customers needs to the fullest. Everyone who crossed paths with Hut absolutely loved and respected him as a terrific human being.

Hut is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lou Anne Rogers Tiller, his two sons, Gregory Hutson Tiller and Kevin Guy Tiller, his mom and dad Sarah and W.J. "Pat" Hoggard, Jr., his sister Elizabeth "Libby" H. Coulter, his nephew W. Scott Rogers and nieces Christina Marie Rogers, Madison Owens Coulter, and Ashley Douglas Coulter. He is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Boots and Diana Rogers and by our special family friend Bette B Hodges. He is preceded in death by his father H. Gordon Tiller, Jr., B. Hutson and Douglas O. Cousins, W.J. and Mae O. Hoggard, and Lou Anne's parents Edith and Guy N. Rogers, Jr.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, September 26, at Woody's Parham Chapel from 6:30-8:30 p.m.. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Westhampton United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 27, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecross Avenue Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, or to Hut's church, Westhampton United Methodist Church at 6100 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23226.
