SIMMONS, Irvin Lamont "Pork Chop," 42, of Richmond, passed unexpectedly on Monday, October 28, 2013. He is survived by his daughters, Jamesha N. Simmons and Kasi M. Simmons; his mother, Ione H. Gatson and her husband, Gregory; a sister, Casandra Simmons and brother, Marvin Howell; aunts, Vermia Miller, Delores Wood and Daisy Morris; devoted aunt and uncle, Garland and Emily Howell; ex-stepfather, Thomas Green; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Simmons Jr.; and his grandmother, Edna S. Smith. Lamont was a corrections officer with the James River Detention Center, and a graduate of Huguenot High School.
