John Francis Allmond Jr.

John F. Allmond Jr. is the son of the late John F. Allmond Sr. and the late Addie Dean Taliaferro. He is a native of Richmond VA and received his formal education from the Richmond Public School System graduating from Armstrong High School. Brother Allmond is the father of one son John F. Allmond III, daughter-in-law Belinda Friend Allmond and the grandfather of Roderick D. Allmond and Tonyea A. Pulliam; Great Grandfather of Shakrrie Allmond, Deaire Allmond, Miles Pulliam, Mason Pulliam, Michael Pulliam; Great-Great-Grandfather of Zippoarh Jackson.

He enlisted in the army where he served for 7 years , 6.5 of them in Berlin, Germany. Upon returning from the military, Brother Allmond joined the Richmond Housing Urban Development were he retired after 35 years of service.

After retiring, Brother Allmond moved to Philadelphia, PA and later Paulsboro, NJ.

In Paulsboro, NJ he joined the 2nd Baptist Church and became an active member serving as an adult Bible study teacher, Chairperson of the Trustee Ministry for 19 years and later ordained as a deacon where he faithfully served until his return to Richmond, VA.

Upon his return to Richmond, VA., Brother Allmond has been a faithful member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon- Emeritus.

A visitation for John will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. A committal service will occur Friday, August 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia, VA 23002.
