Joseph C. Kossan, of Henrico, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Westport, Connecticut and Hudson, Ohio. He attended Western Reserve Academy, the University of Chicago and the University of New South Wales. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron. He worked for Work Environment Associates and as a regulatory board administrator for the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation.
He was predeceased by his parents, Madelyn and Joseph E. Kossan. He is survived by the joys of his life, his sons, J. Alexander Kossan, and Andrew Kossan, as well as his sisters, Nancy Kossan (Deborah Macdonald) and Suzanne Lowman, his niece, Madeleine Lowman Biscotti (Thane) and nephews, Aaron Macdonald (Hae Mi Chang), and Joshua Macdonald (Ceyda), and grandnieces, Rowan and Peregrine Biscotti, and Lena Macdonald.
