

Juanita was born on the family farm in Mississippi and was the youngest of 6 siblings. Upon graduating high school, she became a bookkeeper. At 19, she married the love of her life, Frank Holmes Grantham who was in the US Navy. They were married for 66 years until his passing. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother, raising three children and being very protective of them as Frank was often away shipboard. She spent many hours supporting her kid’s activities such as Cub Scouts, and dance/drill team. As a Navy family, they lived in Florida, Rhode Island, and Virginia.
Juanita enjoyed crafting and birdwatching, hummingbirds in particular. She loved her retirement years in Gasburg, Va on Lake Gaston.
She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Frank, parents Audry May and George Marshall Johnson, brothers Byrum, Linwood, LH, Richard, and sister Wahweese.
Juanita is survived by her beloved children, Frank Marshall Grantham of Cumberland, MD, Joseph Alan (Jackie) Grantham of High Point, NC, Sandra Grantham (Dib) Oglesby of Goochland, Va, two granddaughters, Brooke McCollum and Brittany Stavovy, and two great granddaughters.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23229. A reception will follow the service. The interment will be in Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the WoundedWarriorProject.org.
