Kathleen Rigsbee Poore

Kathleen Rigsbee Poore “Aunt Kitty” it was on March 22, 2023 at the age of 100 that my father the Lord Jesus Christ extended his hand to me and said it’s time to come home my faithful servant. There I was reunited with my parents John Wesley and Alverta Saunders Rigsbee, my twin sister Josephine R. Smethie, my husbands’ John L. Miller, Jr., George E. Cooper, and Howard H. Poore, two half-sisters and a great nephew and many numerous family and friends.

I was born on Church Hill in Richmond, Virginia on April 12, 1922 and grew up in the East End where I was a member of Bishop Memorial United Methodist Church where I served my lord for over 88 years. I honored Gods calling by being a caretaker to many family members. I retired from Philip Morris USA after 38 years of service in payroll and data control. I loved all of Gods animals but dogs and birds hold a special place in my heart.

I am survived by my niece Jennifer S. Overstreet (Guy) and their three children, my nephew Jeffrey H. Smethie (Sally) and their two children my nephew Darrell C. Smethie (Christina). Also survived by a stepdaughter Anne Cooper Goodwin and stepson Ricky L. King. All of whom gave me joy and showered me with love and included me in their lives.

In my memory and all that I ask for is your love and respect by helping each other and respecting one another and for all of Gods' creations.

A funeral service for Kathleen will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.

Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.
