Lillian Scott Bernard

Lillian Scott Bernard, 81, of Glen Allen, Va., passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 4,1931 in Union County, South Carolina to Willie K. Scott Sr. and Bessie Crawford Scott. Lillian moved to Richmond and became a devoted employee of C & P Telephone Company where she worked until her retirement. Lillian was preceded in death by both her parents; and her brother, Clyde Scott. She is survived by her children, Tonya Evans (Dwayne), and Doug Leonhardt (Brenda). Other survivors include her sister, Carol Henderson (Jim); and her brothers, Billy Scott (Barbara), and Fred Scott (Carolyn); four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Parham Road Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, with the service following at 12 noon. A reception will be held at the conclusion of the service in the fellowship hall. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
