Born in Richmond, VA to Paul and Marguerite Allman, she was predeceased by her parents and her sister Rita Hawkes. She is survived by her husband Marc Ofte; 5 children Jennifer Hall, Paul Hagood, Aja Powers (Kyle), Caitlyn Ofte (Jeremy Land) and Brynne Roach (Dylan); along with her two sisters Barbara Melton (Frank) and Nancy Yates. She had 7 grandchildren Derek, Felix, Kira, Phoebe, Otto, Aiden and Murphy. Lois enjoyed distinguished careers at Reynolds Metals, Phillips Sales and Carmax until the pandemic forced her to retire earlier than she had hoped. Lois was the embodiment of love. She was a superb wife and a mother in a league all her own. Her ready smile emanated warmth to all she met. It was a remarkable gift. She crafted and nurtured a family into a rare harmony and what she meant to us was too profound for words. The world has lost one of the purest wellsprings of love that ever graced our species, and her loss is devastating. We love you Lois - God speed. Rest well. We'll do our best to live by your example. A mausoleum service for Lois will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Westhampton Cemetery, 10000 Paterson ave, Henrico, VA 23238.
