After living in various places along the East Coast, Luanne made Glen Allen her home for the past 22 years. There, she created a life filled with happiness and friendship. She took great pride in her home, which she renovated and furnished in her own distinctive style, and it became a place of comfort for both herself and those she welcomed into it.
Luanne is survived by her sons, William (Melissa) and Phillip; and her cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Katherine, Braxton, and Banks. She is also survived by her sister Gail (Bob) and her brothers Rich (Tammy) and Steven (Anita), many nieces and nephews, as well as a wide circle of close friends who enriched her life deeply. She was predeceased by her parents, Louise and Richard.
Luanne lived with multiple sclerosis for over 30 years. Even as her disease progressed, she maintained remarkable resilience and a positive outlook. She often said that while she missed the things she could no longer do, she remained grateful for the things she still could do. Her quiet strength and grace will always be admired and remembered.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful things like watching birds, caring devotedly for her pet dogs, and enjoying the home and life she thoughtfully built. Her love, kindness, and steadfast spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. An informal celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund set up in Luanne’s honor for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society:
