Beth was born in Richmond, Virginia, to Drake and Margaret Letien, who preceded her in death. She spent her life rooted in the place she called home, building deep relationships and leaving lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Stowe, whose love and partnership were central to her life. Beth was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Melanie Stowe Wielar, of whom she was immeasurably proud. Her greatest joys were her family—especially her grandchildren, Drake Wielar and Grace Wielar, who knew her lovingly as “MeMe.” Being MeMe was one of her most cherished roles, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
Beth was also survived by her brother Billy Letien and his wife Courtney Letien; her brother-in-law Troy Stowe; and her nieces Missy Vandenesse and Karey Kirby, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Those who knew Beth will remember her fun-loving spirit, unmistakable sense of style, and her reputation as the best-dressed person in any room. She carried herself with confidence and flair, always bringing color, elegance, and warmth wherever she went. She also took great pride in her time leading Westport, where she was an exceptional leader who set the highest standards and inspired those around her to gladly rise to meet them. Beth especially loved spending time on the sand in Virginia Beach, soaking in the sun and laughter with her closest friends—moments that brought her deep joy.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and compassion shown by all during Beth’s final days. She passed with peace, comfort, and the presence of those who cared for her deeply.
A funeral service will be held at 1PM Monday February 16th, 2026 at Woody’s Funeral Home 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229, followed by a graveside service at Westhampton Memorial Park, weather/conditions permitting.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beth’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Beth’s love, style, laughter, and devotion to her family—especially her role as MeMe—will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
