She was preceded in death by her husband, Devdatta Satham, and her son, Adhir Satham. She is survived by her daughter, Anuja Verma (Yogesh), her granddaughter, Tanvi Verma, and her grandson, Ojas Satham.
Born in Ajmer, Rajasthan, she was the eleventh of twelve children to Bajirao and Mathura Jadhav. She later lived and worked in Mumbai before eventually making her home in Richmond, where she found a deep sense of community and belonging.
Meera was independent, resilient, and deeply kind, with a steadfast optimism that carried through every stage of her life. She met life’s challenges with courage and determination, creating a strong foundation for her family. Spiritual and thoughtful, she was a Reiki master and had a love for music and the arts.
Those who knew her remember her sharp sense of humor and candid nature, always balanced with warmth, compassion, and a genuine positivity that made others feel seen and valued. She was also known for her elegance, often dressed in beautiful sarees that reflected her grace and presence.
She built a life anchored in love and connection, never letting distance or time weaken the bonds she held dear. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A traditional Hindu service will be held on Friday, April 3, from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. We warmly invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring and celebrating her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations to Gajanan Maharaj Shegaon Temple, NJ—a cause very close to her heart as a devoted follower of Shree Gajanan Maharaj. Contributions can be made via Zelle using [804-551-8742], with the memo: “In loving memory of Meera Satham.”. We will consolidate the funds collected and transfer to the organization.
