Michael George Surdis

Michael George Surdis, age 83, of Glen Allen, Virginia passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Michael was born March 30, 1938 in New York, to the late George and Susan Surdis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannine Surdis; son, Michael Surdis; daughter, Maria Surdis-Netz; stepdaughters, Alice Eriavez and Elizabeth Geisheimer, and nine grandchildren, Michael Surdis, Dori Surdis, Thomas Surdis, Geo Netz, Deena Netz, Justin Eriavez, Victoria Eriavez, Ava Geisheimer and Braeden Geisheimer. Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a telegraphic typewriter operator and later worked as District Manager for Admiral, Rockwell and Zenith earning several awards for outstanding achievements within each company. Michael loved to fish and could often be found on the boardwalk of Coney Island enjoying the sun and sea air. He was well known to many in his community where he was lovingly referred to as Big Mike. Michael had a special place in his heart for his fellow Veterans and was a big supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 N.
