Phama was born in the Syracuse, New York area on May 13, 1934. She married William Kuhn in 1953 and raised her six children in upstate New York. She relocated to Nancy, Kentucky, in 1993 after she retired from General Electric Company, where she worked for much of her career as a Technician and Quality Assurance associate. Phama’s passions over the years, in addition to her work and caring for her family, included cooking family dinners, baking, bowling, bingo, and crocheting. She was always happy to sit around a card table and played a mean game of poker. Phama will be remembered with love for her sweet demeanor, kindness, big hugs, beautiful smile, and sense of humor. We will not forget, however, her fried chicken dinners, perfectly baked pies, and cookies as big as your head.
Phama is predeceased by her husband William J. Kuhn, her daughter Joanne F. Christman, her son-in-law John A. Christman, and her parents Chester and Verda Hawley. She is survived by her children William (Karyn) Kuhn, Carol (Dennis) Bishop, Robert (Criss) Kuhn, Mary (Robbie) Hambright, and Donna Carney. Phama, or GG as she is affectionately known, has a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored.
To celebrate Phama’s life and legacy, a service will be held at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Henrico, VA, on Friday, September 3rd at 3 pm.
