Prudence Lynn Harris

Prudence Lynn Harris passed away in Richmond, Virginia, on July 9, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 24, 1959, in North Carolina, she was raised in Emporia, Virginia, and later made her home in Richmond.

Prue was the beloved mother of her daughters, Anna and Laura (Victor) Kelly, and her son-in-law, Bill Ellington. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Raven Ellington and Lauren Kelly; her parents, Linwood and Narrice Harris; and her in-laws, John and Helen Kelly.

Prue’s heart extended far beyond traditional family ties. Michael, Alex, Jane, Addison, and Max were loved as though they were her own children and grandchildren. She formed deep and lasting friendships throughout her life and mourned the loss of dear friends Bonnie, Brenda, and Ramona.

Her love for animals was evident through her devoted care for her pets, Mickey and Skittles. Her affection also extended to her granddogs, Mocha, Jack, and Lilo. She never forgot the pets who preceded her in death, who all held a special place in her heart.

Her memory will be held close by her many friends, family, and all those whose lives she touched. May they find comfort in the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought to those around her.

A memorial gathering for Prudence will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, Virginia 23229.
