Rachel Eunice Barbosa

BARBOSA, Rachel Eunice (b. Eykyn), 87, of Rowington, Warwickshire, England, passed away on October 26, 2011. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Jose Francisco Rodrigues Barbosa, from Belem, Brazil. She is survived by her two children, Ernani Eykyn Barbosa of Atibaia, Brazil, and Cecilia Eykyn Barbosa of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Alexandra Raquel Barbosa De Leon and Marco Andre Barbosa De Leon of Richmond, Va., and Rogerio Tamura Barbosa and Andre Tamura Barbosa of Atibaia, Brazil; and nieces and nephews in England and Brazil.

Due to her work with in the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) after WWII and husband's lifelong career with the United Nations, she lived in London, England; US Zone, Germany; Washington, D.C., New York City, and Sarasota, Fla.; Bangkok, Thailand; Havana, Cuba; Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Atibaia, Brazil; Paris, France; Geneva and Villars, Switzerland; Rome, Italy; Vienna, Austria; and Lima, Peru. Her family and friends will remember her loving marriage and devotion to family, her quiet, firm and sweet spirit, and gentle humor, her family stories, her respect for people of all backgrounds and love of world literature and global events.
