CORBETT, Robert Marvin, 65, of Glen Allen, passed away September 24, 2013, after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). He proudly served in the U.S. Army, 11th Special Forces Group (Airborne) for 18 years, and retired from Bell Atlantic after 24 years. He was a long standing member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Lydia Bland Corbett; daughter, Elizabeth Corbett Baxter (Joe); son, Marvin Courtney Corbett (Sara Catherine); the light of his life, his granddaughter, Savannah Elizabeth Baxter; his mother, Hilda J. Berry; and his sister, Joyce Martin. A visitation will be held at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va., Wednesday, September 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va., Thursday, September 26, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 9155 Hungary Rd., Henrico, Va. 23294.
