

Robert B. Parks, 90 of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. He was a devoted husband to Naomi Tignor Parks. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII being awarded the Asiatic- Pacific Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and the American Theatre Service Medal. After leaving the armed services, Bob was employed by the C&P Telephone Company, now AT&T from where he retired.
"Bob" as most people knew him was preceded in death by his wife Naomi T Parks; mother Verlia M. Parks; brothers, Henry C. Parks and Blaine E. Parks; sisters, Iola Monetti and Myrtle Parris. He is survived by his brother Ted D. Parks of Bristol, Virginia and a sister, Frances Mercer of Marion Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Parks attended the Northminster Baptist Church prior to his illness. The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to all of Mr. Parks' caregivers for their devoted care during the past five years.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Medi Home Health and Hospice, 8100 Three Chopt Rd. Suite 226, Richmond, VA. 23229. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd.
