

Robert Harold Tucker died peacefully at his home in Richmond, Va., on November 21 at age 96 in the presence of family. He was born January 2, 1929 in Clifton Forge, Va., to James A. and Vida (Broughman) Tucker, who preceded him in death. His wife Joyce Ailstock Tucker preceded him in death in 1995.
He is survived by his fiancee of many years, Ms. Joanne Allen of Richmond, Va. Joanne added much energy and adventure to his retirement years, and lovingly cared for him through his final days. Also surviving are three children, Robert H. Tucker Jr. and wife Kathy, Woodbridge, Va., Thomas N. Tucker and wife Nancy Niemeier, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Anne T. Stilley and husband Bill, Charlottesville, Va.
Surviving grandchildren are: Ryan Tucker (Lauren), Manakin, Va., Kellie Boyle (Sean), Purcellville, Va., James Tucker (Phượng), Virginia Beach, Va., Sean Tucker (Brittney), Hampton, Va., Morgan Stilley, Chapel Hill, N.C., Blair Stilley, New York, N.Y. and Meredith Stilley, Charlottesville, Va.
Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren: Scarlet and Jack, Aidan and Finn, Dylan, Kiernan and Tucker, and Emma and Leo.
After graduation from Clifton Forge High School, where he was the 1946 Virginia state high jump champion, Mr. Tucker served in the Army during the Korean War with deployment to the Philippines. He worked for many years at CSX Railroad, where he started as a rodman on a survey crew and retired as Vice President for Real Estate Development. In retirement, among many interests, he continued as an independent real estate developer. He was an avid golfer, astute card player and international dance champion. His family knew him affectionately as Bob, Dad, Grandpop, PopPop, Bobaloobob and Sweet Pea.
