Robert and I were members of the Mighty Pen Project at the Virginia War Memorial under the guidance of David L. Robbins for many classes. We always sat next to each other and we came to love and support each other through some 'tough to tell' stories we both produced over the years. Robert was the kind of guy I would have loved in Viet Nam. He was hard and he was a real stoic. Through the telling of some painful experiences, We talked about God a lot. Robert and I realized we were both on a spiritual journey, together. I would receive many poems from Robert asking me what I thought about them and we exchanged bits of our lives that we perhaps were reluctant to share with any others in our group. We supported each other as brothers and I know I will see him again when I leave this good earth. I was so proud of him when he got his book published. I love you Bob! See you when I come back home. Brother.

This was a happy time. All of us were at the 'Artsies Award Night' in Richmond back in 2022 and we were all up for Best New Play for our War In Pieces plays. It was so good to be back together again! I love all these great Souls. Dave Aldridge

Sweet Bob, oh how I am going to miss our long talks about Bob, you and the lifetime ago.  Now you're  with your Guardian Angel,  Bob, probably causing a ruckus over  pushups!.  
What a brave, badass Marine you are and I am so proud to have know you.  Thank you for all the great memories. See you on the other side.

My sweet friend, Bob.  Oh, how I'm going to miss those talks we had about Woody,  you, and stuff. .  I tried for years to get you guys to come to Texas and thaw out, but life happened!!. 
 My only sense of understanding any of this is that you are counting Bob's push ups!! I know you always felt he was your Guardian Angel in Nam, and so do I.  
It was such an honor knowing such a brave, badass  Marine.....
