Robert William Windsor, affectionately known to many as "Boo," passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at the age of 67. Born in Newark, New Jersey on April 5, 1951, he graduated from J. R. Tucker High School in 1969 and served six years with the Virginia Air National Guard.
Bob was the proud owner of Bob Windsor General Contractor, which he opened in 1969 at the age of 18. Bob loved his work, especially renovating houses for his friends. Known for his use of loud and bold colors, his work was as he was unique as Bob himself. He started each day by 6 a.m. and worked until 10 p.m. squeezing 134 years into his 67.
Bob never met a stranger and his first question was always, "Where did you go to high school?" He was always there to lend a helping hand. He was one-of-a-kind and will be truly missed!
Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gina Rapisarda Windsor; his beloved dogs, Lucy, Sug and Molly; brother, Greg and his wife, Tina; brother-inlaw, Joe Rapisarda Jr. and his wife, Margie; nieces, Robin Duke, Dawn Mott, Jordan Windsor, Lindsey Rapisarda and Ashleigh Swope; nephews, Dick Cecil, Andrew Rapisarda and Brandon Swope; great-nieces, Brittany Valentine, Rachael Mott, Caroline Mott and Olivia Duke; great-great-niece, Brinley Valentine; all his Italian cousins in the USA and Italy and his 4,000 Facebook friends! He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Estelle Windsor; sister, Carol Windsor Swope; and grandparents, Alexander and Carmela Chiappinelli and Carl Sr. and Elizabeth Windsor.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, Va. Donations may be made in Bob's memory to ACT Today! (Autism Care and Treatment) or the Northside Outreach Center (NOC) in Richmond.
